I just found your site, which seems to have been idle for a few years. Why do you think it failed to take off? What would you say you learned from this effort?

The trouble with McCain’s statement is the term, “strategic independence”. Pray tell, what does that mean? It certainly does not mean actual independence, since the U. S. cannot supply its own oil consumption. Does it mean that we will get oil only from our friends? Like Mexico and Saudi Arabia? Like Iraq? Does it mean that we will establish client state in the Middle East to supply our oil?

I submit that in any real sense, we are already strategically independent in oil. If we want it, we can get it.

I suppose that, from an Aristotelian point of view. McCain’s statement is completely untrue, because he does not mean anything by it. It just sounds good.

Motivist uses a form of collective intelligence to come up with ‘truth scores’ for internet accuracy. Users vote on the overall truth of an article and based on an algorithm (that takes user level and other criteria into considearation) a score is generated. Articles can be scored on the site directly or via a widget that will be included upon other sites.

BluBet “ivitations” are generated when they send e-mails to all your contacts-claiming to do so as you or on your behalf.
They should be shut down, not commented on as if they we a legitimate operation with a neat idea.
